Fire is the biggest risk we face when it comes to managing health and safety. Failure to manage fire safety and fire extinguisher maintenance can risk lives, property and jobs. On average 46 people die every year from fires, mainly in their own home. It has been estimated that 1600 jobs are lost each year in Ireland and hundreds of organisations experience fires that affect or even ruin business, with costs that run into the millions.
